Localzie Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 19, 2026
Localzie connects an iPhone to language models and coding harnesses running on your own computer. It does not require an account, and it does not run a cloud service or relay for your chats.
How Localzie Works
- Your iPhone connects directly to AI model servers and agents that you run on your own computer, over your local network or a private VPN.
- There is no Localzie account and no Localzie cloud relay. The developer does not operate a server between your phone and your computer.
- Because the connection is direct, the developer does not receive your chat content.
Data the Developer Receives
- The developer does not receive your chat content.
- The developer does not collect analytics, tracking, usage data, or automatic crash reports.
- The developer does not sell your personal data.
When you send a prompt, that prompt and your conversation history are sent to the server you chose so it can process the request. Messages you send do not stay only on your phone. Your server or harness configuration may call external model providers or tools, and their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. Running a self-hosted harness does not guarantee that all inference happens locally.
Data Stored on Your Phone
- Localzie stores conversation data and your connection and settings on your phone so you can keep your history and use the app offline.
- Basic-runtime conversations are owned by the app on your phone. Harness sessions, such as OpenCode, are owned by your server, and the phone keeps a display copy.
- Credentials, such as server passwords or tokens, are stored in the iOS Keychain, not in your conversation transcripts.
Permissions
- Local Network: Localzie uses the iOS Local Network permission to scan for and connect to supported servers on your network. Discovery probes addresses on your local network.
- Notifications: Localzie can show optional local notifications. These are generated on your phone and are not sent through Apple Push Notification service. Notifications do not keep a generation running and do not guarantee that a reply is delivered.
Deleting Data
- Deleting a conversation removes its record from your phone. For supported server-owned sessions, Localzie also asks your server to delete the session, which requires an active connection.
- Forget connection removes that connection's chats and settings stored on your phone, along with its saved credential. It does not delete the sessions or logs on your server.
- The developer cannot make promises about your server's logs, backups, or how third-party providers retain data.
- Before you uninstall Localzie, forget your connections to remove saved credentials from your phone. Uninstalling the app does not reliably remove Keychain items, and the developer cannot remove data held by your server or other services.
Contact
If you email support, you send whatever you choose to share to the developer and to the email provider. The developer uses it to respond. Do not send secrets or full transcripts.
This policy covers the Localzie app. Any hosting, email, or server service you use is independent and governed by its own terms.
